Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"I love diners and breakfast spots and of course deli’s. I was in town visiting a friend stayed the night and of course we needed to go out and have some breakfast and he recommended we try this spot. Let me start off by stating this is an old-school retro breakfast spot if you’re not into that type of thing and you’re looking for flashy modern furniture this is not the place to go if you want good home cooking food that you would make it home this is the spot you go to where the locals go Service was amazing, the food was great. We both ordered omelettes. It has a cool vibe inside and you can watch the action of your food being cooked while sitting down."
"Such a charming little breakfast spot! It has that old-school, cozy feel that makes you instantly comfortable the moment you walk in. The food was delicious, the portions were just right, and the waitresses were incredibly friendly and welcoming — like you’re eating at a family member’s house. But the real star? The hot chocolate. Hands down the best I’ve ever had — rich, warm, and absolutely perfect. If you’re looking for a simple, comforting breakfast with great service and that nostalgic small-diner atmosphere, this place is a must-try."
"First time here. Food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time after getting there when it was really busy. Western omelette and home fries were really good. Only thing is the booth we were in was a little bit cramped. Other than that, it was great."
"Absolutely delicious! My meal was great. Definitely a home town feel to the place. You can watch them cook your meal. We stopped here on our way back from camping at Turning Stone based on the reviews and they did not disappoint. We parked across the street at ace with our camper and walked across the street. We will be back someday!"
"I had a delicious diner breakfast while driving across the country when moving. This is a place that had breakfast down to a science, every piece of toast done perfectly, pancakes perfectly fluffy and eggs fried exactly how I like. I'll definitely stop again when driving through!"
"First time in a while I've been there like my 16th bday, I had a lot of family lived in City of Rome NY, so after my morning Dr appointment my Friend asked me about breakfast I said I want to go to the Iron Kettle Restaurant, they are still doing everything in front of you on their grill and still making awesome food! Consistency Everytime! I will be back there again! Thanks for cranking out awesome food!"
"We found this jewel on the Internet and decided to give it a try. We were passing through Rome, NY. Easy in and out parking. You seat yourself and our wonderful, delightful server was Jenene. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend. The owner, Tim, said his mother opened the Iron Kettle in the 70's. I had the chicken tenders from the appetizer section and I added the grilled broccoli with cheese. My husband ordered a burger which came with chips. He was very pleased. The prices are affordable and ample portions. Go eat here and tell Jenene the couple from TN sent you."
"Hearty small-town cafe vibes done right! The Iron Kettle Cafe has amazing prices ($2 coffee!) and quick, friendly service. The place was decorated perfectly for Halloween, with local country music playing & families filling the place. The food was delicious and comforting; exactly what you would like from a local gem like this. Special thanks to Nadia for her responsiveness and attention to detail!"
